Dr. Vera Brown, D.M.D.

has been treating headaches and TMJ for over 10 years. She graduated from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 1998 and went on to Portland, Oregon to complete a General Practice Residency at Portland’s Veteran’s Hospital. Her undergraduate degree is in Clinic Laboratory Sciences from Morehead State University.

Nancy W. Burkhart, Ed.D, M.Ed, BS, AFAAOM

is an adjunct professor at Texas A&M College of Dentistry, Dallas TX, and has been a faculty member since 1997. Dr. Burkhart is the co-founder and faculty co-host of the International Oral Lichen Planus Support Group, established in 1997 through Texas A&M College of Dentistry and served on the World Workshop 2022/ Oral medicine Vlll as a consultant.

Kenneth C. Colerick, D.D.S.

received his dental degree from University of Missouri at Kansas City. After receiving his dental degree, Dr. Colerick spent over 50 years in private practice in various communities in California. During his career, Dr. Colerick placed over 20,000 units of crown and bridge, completed more than 4,000 endodontic procedures, 200,000 restorative procedures and 5,000 removable prosthetic devices. During his career, Dr. Colerick completed over 1200 hours of continuing education.

Dr. Joanne Conaway (ND, BSN, RN)

received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1976. She is currently a retired Air Force Nurse with experience in Trauma Nursing, Operating Room and Critical Care as well as over 6 years of specialized Nutritional Support Nursing and Education.

Dr. Todd Ehrler

a practicing orthodontist for more than 20 years, specializes in the use of technology to improve the quality of orthodontic imaging and care. A recipient of the Pierre Fauchard Award for Outstanding Academic Achievements in Dentistry, Dr. Ehrler completed his DDS and further orthodontic training at Loma Linda University.

Jessica Glover RDH, COM ® , QOM ®

is a registered dental hygienist specializing in myofunctional therapy. A licensed hygienist for nearly 30 years, Jessica is also certified in Orofacial Myology through the International Association of Orofacial Myologists (IAOM) and currently serves as the organization’s vice president. As vice president, Jessica facilitates the organization’s efforts to raise awareness of myofunctional disorders and to improve therapy standardization nationally and globally.

Dr. Virgil Karnatz D.D.S.

graduated from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in 1972 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He started a successful practice in Glendale, AZ where he practiced all phases of dentistry and worked part time for the Maricopa County Health Department providing free dental services, for children in the underserved areas. In 1976, he moved to Northern California, where he practiced until he retired in 2004.

Juli Liske, RDH

Juli Liske, RDH, brings more than 25 years of experience caring for dental patients on the autism spectrum. As an autistic hygienist, mother, author, and advocate, she combines professional and personal insight to help dental teams provide more comfortable, effective care for children and adults with autism.

Dr. Jeanette MacLean, DDS

is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, owner of Affiliated Children’s Dental Specialists in Glendale, Arizona, and mother of two. She received her dental degree, with honors, from the University of Southern California in 2003 and completed her specialty training in pediatric dentistry in 2005 at Sunrise Children’s Hospital through the University of Nevada School of Medicine.

Dr. S.D. Shanti, DDS, MPH, PhD

holds a DDS from Northwestern University, a PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Vermont and a Masters degree in Public Health from Harvard University. She is a dual specialist in pediatric dentistry and dental public health who has worked in academia as well as the public and non-profit sectors.

Dr. Silky Sharma, RDH, Ed.D.

associate professor at Harper College in Palatine Illinois, for 15 years, holds a master’s degree from the University of Illinois in evidence-based decision making, as well as a doctorate of education from Grand Canyon University with an emphasis on adult learning. She provides courses on periodontology, advanced perio instrumentation, pain management, and oral pathology, among other topics.

Tom Viola, R.Ph., CCP

has earned his national and international reputation as the go-to specialist for making pharmacology practical and useful for all members of the dental team. As the founder of Pharmacology Declassified, Tom aims to educate clinicians about how non-dentist-prescribed medications affect dentistry, as well as how dentist-prescribed medications relate to other medical issues outside of dentistry.
