Dr. S.D. Shanti, D.D.S, M.P.H., Ph.D

A multidisciplinary health professional, Dr. S.D. Shanti holds a DDS from Northwestern University, a PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Vermont and a Masters degree in Public Health from Harvard University. She is a dual specialist in pediatric dentistry and dental public health and has worked in academia and the public, private and non-profit sectors.

Passionate about integrating public health and psychology in dentistry, Dr. Shanti has perviously served as director of the DMD-MPH dual degree program at the Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health and also as Head of Public Health at the FDI World Dental Federation in Geneva, Switzerland.

A major thread in Dr. Shanti’s body of work is the translation of science into practice, to advance prevention and improve health outcomes especially in the prevention of violence, depression and oral disease. A peace activist, she also founded a non-profit in Switzerland to advance these goals in the world.
