Dr. Bennett Jacoby was born and raised in Southern California where he attended California State University at Northridge (C.S.U.N.) graduating in 1983 with a Bachelor’s degree in both Chemistry and Biology. He then attended the University of California at Los Angeles (U.C.L.A.) School of Dentistry and received his D.D.S. degree in 1987.
Upon graduation from dental school, he moved to Chicago to attend an internship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for one year. Dr. Jacoby then returned to Los Angeles and practiced General Dentistry for one year, after which he moved to Dallas, Texas to complete a the Periodontics Residency program at Baylor University, College of Dentistry, in Dallas, Texas receiving his Certificate in Periodontics and a Master’s Degree in Oral Biology in 1991. During this residency Dr. Jacoby performed extensive research in the dental sciences leading to several publications of his work in peer-reviewed international scientific journals.
Upon graduation he returned to California and established a private Periodontics specialty practice in Laguna Hills, California. In 1998 Dr. Jacoby moved to the Big Island of Hawaii, establishing a periodontal practice in Kona. He was also the volunteer Periodontist for the charity Mobilecare on the West side of the Big Island that provided dental care to the underprivileged population of Kona. Recognizing the need for a Periodontist on the Island of Kauai, Dr. Jacoby opened his Periodontics practice in Lihue, Kauai in 2012. He currently travels between his Kona and Lihue office several times per month. Dr. Jacoby is the inventor and patent holder of several specialized instruments and devices including the Perioscope and the Plaque Zero system. In his spare time, Dr. Jacoby enjoys surfing and spending time with his two children.
