Background & Clinical Experience

Juli Liske is an experienced dental hygienist who has treated patients on the autism spectrum for more than 25 years. She draws on her experience as a hygienist, mother, author, and special needs advocate to offer insight into treating both children and adults with autism.

Advocacy & Continuing Education

Being autistic herself and having two adult children on the spectrum, Juli is passionate about improving health care for individuals with autism and other disabilities. She has taught autism-related continuing education to dental professionals for many years.

Writing & Community Leadership

In 2006, Juli released her first book, In the Eye of the Hurricane: Finding Peace in the Storm of Autism, which offers a helpful guide for dental professionals and anyone seeking education on the topic.

In 2008, she founded The Brown Center for Autism in Nashville. The center provided comprehensive early intervention for children with autism, intensive training and support for parents, and community education for the public. Juli served as its executive director for almost a decade.

She has also served on the Tennessee Governor’s Council for Autism Spectrum Disorders and the national SPARK for Autism Advisory Council.

Outside the Practice

Juli resides in Tennessee with her husband, Jim. They have two adult sons, both of whom are on the autism spectrum, and one daughter.
