
Dr. S.D. Shanti is a multidisciplinary health professional and innovator. A dual specialist in pediatric dentistry and dental public health, she has served in academia and the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. Her experiences include having directed the DMD–MPH dual degree program at the Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health and serving as Head of Public Health at the FDI World Dental Federation in Geneva, Switzerland.
Over the years, her projects have been funded by UNICEF, the NIH, CDC, the Swiss Secretariat for Economic Affairs, and foundations in the U.S., U.K. and Switzerland. A major theme in her work is the translation of science into practice to improve health outcomes and prevent violence, depression, and oral disease.
Dr. Shanti is the founder of the World Love Forum, which advances love and compassion in all spheres of life, for a healthier, more peaceful world. A lifelong advocate for prevention and well-being, she incorporates her signature three part approach of science, strategy, and soul into everything she teaches.
She holds a DDS from Northwestern University, a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Vermont, and a Master’s in Public Health from Harvard University.
