Dental professional need to be equipped to deal with different forms of dental emergencies to teeth, bone and oral soft tissues. Some emergencies come from injuries suffered as a result of trauma (falls, sports injuries, car accidents, etc.). Other emergencies occur as the consequence of dental procedures (extractions, root canals, oral surgery, etc.). This course will look at how to assess various forms of emergencies and deal with them appropriately.
In addition, this course will look at the most common dental procedures that result in dental pain and give tips on how to reduce the likelihood of post-procedure pain.
After completing this course, the clinician will be able to:
- Learn how to handle the emergency patient.
- Learn how to avoid a hypersensitive tooth when placing composites.
- Learn how to diagnose irreversible pulpitis from a hypersensitive tooth.
- Learn how bacteria influences the tissues around teeth.
- Learn how to repair a fractured tooth.v
- Learn how to avoid emergencies after an extraction.
