Live, Interactive Webcast Continuing Education Course

This course will review the deep anatomy of the head, neck and arm with an emphasis on nerve entrapment and myofascial pain that originate in the head and neck. Soft tissue therapies will be demonstrated that relieve fascial tension, restore range of motion and relieve pain. The importance of fascia and its role in pain relief will be reviewed to give the participant a better understanding of the many fascial planes that exist and how pain can be treated by manipulation of these tissues. We will review pain pathways and symptoms such as burning, loss of strength and numbness.
NOTE: significant additional didactic training and certification is required before these techniques can be incorporate into your practice. Participation in this seminar does not qualify a dental professional to attempt these techniques.
After completing this course, the clinician will be able to:
- Understanding biomechanics of the head neck and arms and how their movements contribute to headaches and TMD.
- Describe how to examine soft tissues of the head and neck.
- Understand muscle anatomy and fascia.
- Describe how fascial manipulation is a valuable treatment option for TMD and head and neck pain.
- Understand the importance of fascia and its role.
