Surgical vs. Non-surgical Periodontal Disease Treatment

Live, Interactive Webcast Continuing Education Course
3 Hours Credits

Instructor: Dr. Stanley Kuren, D.M.D., M.S.D.

Course Description:

The treatment of periodontal disease in the dental office occurs on a daily basis. Decisions as whether to utilize surgical or non-surgical methods are mostly based on the condition of the tissues and the cooperation of the patient themselves.

The various methods of treatment will generally be discussed, not only with the dentist, but also with the dental assistant, the hygienist and certain members of the front office staff, whereas an appropriate communication with a periodontist may be necessary.

After completing this course, the clinician will be able to:

  1. Understand the underlying factors involved in developing an effective treatment plan for the various periodontal conditions.
  2. To understand the different methods available to treat the various periodontal conditions that the clinician will be faced with.
  3. To understand the environment, both structural and systemic, that the clinician will encounter and render appropriate diagnosis.
  4. Understand the necessity of a well informed, well trained staff.

About Live, Interactive Webcast Continuing Education Seminars:

A live, interactive webcast seminar is similar to attending a continuing education seminar in your community,
except that you attend via your computer. Each course is done live in a format that allows your participation.

Anyone who has access to a computer that can play sound can participate in an ACES webcast seminar. No
special computer knowledge or equipment is required to participate in our webcast seminars.

When you enroll in any ACES webcast course, you will be sent an e-mail with complete information on how to
join the online seminar and a copy of the course syllabus. At the conclusion of your live seminar, you will complete
a course examination online. You will then be able to print your continuing education certificate from your computer.
